Halloween is just around the corner, and there’s nothing more thrilling for kids than donning their costumes and hitting the streets for some trick-or-treating! Luckily for families in the DC area, Fairfax County is home to some of the best neighborhoods for a candy-filled adventure. I’ve gathered insights from local parents and scouted the area to bring you this list of 13 fantastic neighborhoods where your little ghouls and goblins can collect treats and enjoy spooky sights.
1. Lake Barcroft - A neighborhood that truly embraces the Halloween spirit! Expect impressive decorations and a community that loves to show off their spooky side.
2. Oakton - With a friendly vibe and houses decked out for Halloween, Oakton is a prime spot for families looking to fill their candy bags.
3. Mason District - Known for its family-friendly atmosphere, Mason District features plenty of houses ready to welcome trick-or-treaters with open arms (and bags of candy!)
4. Kingstowne - This well-planned community is perfect for walking, and you’ll find homes bursting with Halloween spirit and sweet treats. Fun fact - I grew up in Kingstown!
